We hope that you will join us as a member. Our general membership meetings are held in October and January. Our annual membership meeting is held in May. Each month, we host a different local artist who showcases their work in our gallery. Our artist receptions are held on a Sunday afternoon and is well attended. Also each month, we have a book review which ends with a lunch prepared by our wonderful members. A fall membership event honors our new members, Life Members and members who have been with the Club for more than 50 years. This event is held in September at the Woman’s Department Club and includes a fashion show and lunch. Smaller social events happens on Thursday afternoons of each month followed by an afternoon tea. These groups known as “Departments” focus on a variety of interests such as Art, Education, Entertainment and Home Enhancements and offer a great opportunity to make new friends in a more intimate setting. Following the Fall Luncheon, the Club Members begin preparation for our holiday season with “Hanging of the Greens”. A tradition where the members decorate the entire Club for the upcoming holidays. Decorating starts during the week after Thanksgiving and is made possible through the efforts of many volunteers. Decorating is completed just in time for our Annual Holiday Dinner which is a beautiful catered evening affair for our members. Each year, the Woman’s Department Club host two major events for its Club Members as well as their guests. The Club decorates for the traditional mardi gras season and holds a true southern Mardi Gras brunch complete with local Krewes and mardi gras throws. Then in the Spring, the Club host a Mexican Fiesta for our members and guests. In addition, the Club hosts other events throughout the year which varies from year to year.
